Tybee Island

tybeeThis past weekend my mom and I went on a short girls trip to Tybee Island, and after the loss of our beloved Border Collie, Blue, it was imperative that we getaway for the weekend. We spent the majority of the time at the beach, soaking up the beautiful weather and salty ocean air.  It was so nice to just relax and have no set plans. We only managed to pull ourselves away from the beach long enough to enjoy a nice evening on River Street. We ate a New Orleans style dinner at Huey’s then stopped by Savannah’s Candy Kitchen for some fudge. Sunday was a bit more overcast, so we visited the Tybee Island Lighthouse and did some shopping in downtown Savannah. Since I’m already thinking about Christmas,  I picked up a cute new ornament (Butter Y’all)  from the Paula Deen store that will look perfect next to my cupcake ornament on my Christmas tree. My mom and I had such a wonderful weekend, but it was hard to return home knowing Blue wouldn’t be there.

TGIF! My mom and I are headed to Tybee Island this weekend for a girls only beach trip and some much needed R&R. Since the weather seems to be permanently rainy here in Atlanta, we figured we could find some sun on Georgia’s Golden Coast. Keeping my fingers crossed! I’m mainly packing light, casual outfits that can be dressed up with statement pieces and heels. I was particularly drawn to this Tribal Print dress from Target. It’s perfect for a day at the beach, but with the right accessories, can easily be worn out on River Street. I’m always finding great, affordable pieces there. This Mint Ruffle Bikini is also a Target find. I love how girly it is and can’t wait to finally wear it. Hope you all have a great weekend! I’m off to sun bathe!
