Splurge or Save: Gold Dot Scarf

It’s time to pull out the cold weather wear because winter is here! One of  my favorite winter accessories is a scarf. I use it to spruce up a plain t-shirt, add dimension to my outfit, and obviously, keep my neck warm. This gold polka dot scarf from Chapters Indigo is perfect for the holiday season. The soft blush color is a nice winter neutral while the gold dots add a bit of glitz. But for half the price, Target has a similar option with smaller dots. Both options are equally great for a chic look this Thanksgiving!

Splurge or Save: Peter Pan Collar Dress

A peter pan collar is one of those statement pieces that’s always more versatile than you expect. It can be worn at the office, out for a casual lunch, or even a night out when paired with some edgier pieces. It’s preppy, yet doesn’t seem as stuffy as a traditional collar. This J. Crew dress has such nice structure and I love the light heather grey color. It’s the perfect neutral for colder months. Merona for Target, however, designed a perfect alternative, where the difference is almost non-existent, all at a fraction of the cost.

Splurge or Save: Leopard Loafers

My leopard flats have always been my go-to shoe, but after three years of wear and tear, I’ve sadly had to say goodbye to them. The suede detailing is faded, the soles are worn out, and with Fall just around the corner, I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair. I’d been searching for a while and almost gave up hope until I saw this pair of leopard loafers by Sam Edelman. Loafers are similar to a flat, but are more sophisticated with sleeker lines and a small heel. They can easily be dressed up for a day at the office or down for a casual night out. This particular pair was a bit too expensive for my budget, so I was even more ecstatic when I found these Sam & Libby for Target leopard loafers. The print is almost identical, but at a much lower price point.

Tribal Print Bikini

Spring breaks are in full swing and I can’t help but dream of warmer days. March in Atlanta has been more of a lion than a lamb. With that said, I have been preparing my closet for bikini season. I recently came across this Mara Hoffman bikini and fell in love. The tribal print and bright colors are perfect for summer. I could totally see myself lounging poolside, cocktail in hand, with a good read in this little number. However, it comes with a price-$218 dollars to be exact! If you are not willing to spend that kind of cash, Target has some great bikini options. I found this Xhilaration bikini in a similar tribal print at a third of the price. Both suits offer a fun, tribal print with vibrant colors. Would you rather splurge or save?
