Sorry for the radio silence everyone! 2014 has already been super busy and we are only two weeks in. I’ve been on the grind since January 1st, but used this weekend to play catch up. So in a nutshell, here’s what I’ve been up to as of late:

1. Before heading out for NYE

2. Dinner at Marietta Diner

3. Another variation of my Garnet & Gold mani

4. Pre-gaming at Tin Lizzy’s with the Atlanta Seminole Club for the BCS Championship

5. Proud Seminole Alumni (#1)

6. Brunch at Another Broken Egg

7. Clementine season

8. Leisurely Saturday reading

9. New favorite bracelet that is perfect for cheering on my Noles

New Year’s Eve Style

2013-12-28_10-15-44

{1/2/3/4/5/6}

I love any excuse to wear a little extra sparkle and there is no holiday more appropriate than New Year’s Eve to do just that. This NYE, I’m opting for a glamourous look complete with gold sequins and vintage flair. I’ve had this BB Dakota dress since August, but really haven’t had the opportunity to wear it. I’ll be pairing it with some ankle booties, these 20’s inspired earrings, and this festive clutch by Kate Spade. I can’t wait to throw it on and sip on some sparkly cocktails to welcome 2014!

Winter Bucket List

Winter Bucket List

It’s that time of year again-another bucket list is here! We are technically still a few weeks away from the official first day of winter, but since we have already had our first snow (ish) day, it’s officially winter in my mind. These next few weeks will be extremely busy, filled with the hustle and bustle that goes along with the holiday season, so I’m making it a point to make time for all of my favorite winter activities. Aside from all the fun that surrounds Christmas, I’m particularly looking forward to enjoying some of the little things this season, like hibernating next to a warm fire with some hot coco, ice skating on a chilly day, and spending time with my family (who will be coming all the way from South Florida at the end of the month). So without further ado, my Winter Bucket List:

1.  Visit a Christmas Tree Farm, buy this year’s tree, then decorate it!

2. Go ice skating on the outside rink at Centennial Olympic Park.

3. See the holiday lights at Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

4. Host a Tacky Christmas Sweater Party complete with a hot chocolate bar.

5. Bake Christmas cookies and attempt to decorate them with royal icing.

6. Spend a Saturday in my pajamas watching a marathon of all my favorite holiday movies.

7. Go to the Backstreet Boys concert/Jingle Jam 2013.

8. Ring in 2014 wearing this sequined dress by BB Dakota.

9. Watch Florida State play in (and hopefully win) the BCS National Championship Game in Pasadena.

10. SNOW DAY! Hoping we get another snow day this year, one that lasts longer than 4 hours 🙂

Holiday Movie Roundup

2013-11-12_21-05-45

Last night, my boyfriend and I went out for our usual date night to to see Richard Curtis‘ newest film, About Time, and it got me excited for the holidays. Curtis is responsible for writing and directing some of my favorite movies, including the popular holiday flick, Love Actually. That movies always puts me in a cheery mood. After the movie, I started thinking about some of my other favorite holiday movies that really get me in the holiday spirit. I’ve rounded up my top picks, from classics to newer features, that celebrate this wonderful season. My all-time favorite will always be A Christmas Story, although Christmas Vacation is a close second. What’s your favorite holiday film?

These are in no particular order:

A Christmas Story

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

It’s a Wonderful Life

Elf

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Christmas Vacation

Home Alone

The Holiday

The Family Stone

Love Actually

Miracle on 34th Street

I’m a city girl through and through, but one of my favorite things about living in Atlanta is that the country is just a short drive away. Over the weekend, my mom and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and partake in our first Fall activity. We headed up to B.J. Reece Orchards, an apple orchard where you can pick from a wide selection of the seasonal fruit. The 120-acre family owned farm and apple orchard, nestled in the mountains of North Georgia, also contains a petting zoo and country store. We filled our bags with Granny Smith (my favorite), Red Rome Beauty, and some Golden Delicious. Luckily, we didn’t see any poisonous ones ;). Before heading out, we made a quick stop at the petting zoo where I tried to bring home the cutest goat, and then to the country store for two more pecks of apples and some local honey. Cute animals, delicious fruit, and crisp mountain air- I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the arrival of Fall.

FedEx Cup Playoffs

Eastlake

{View of East Lake from the 6th hole tee box}

Yesterday, Matt and I spent our first day of Fall at East Lake Golf Club for the TOUR Championship and it could not have been a more perfect day! Temps below 80, sunny weather and famous golfers everywhere-it was the ideal setting for the final round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. We originally walked the grounds of the course to see all the different holes and players, but eventually set up shop at the 18th hole to see the final play of the competition. Only the top 30 players in the world participated, so it was pretty neat to be standing less than 100 feet away from some of the world’s best golfers. Sadly, I didn’t get a picture of my favorite player, Adam Scott, but I did manage to snap a few of Tiger Woods, Brandt Snedeker, and Phil Mickelson.  Tiger was even wearing his signature Sunday red. By the end of the day, I was extremely worn out from all the walking we did (my legs are still hurting) and a little sun burnt, but it was definitely worth it! Congrats to Henrik Stenson for taking home the cup!

Atlanta Eats: Elevation Chophouse

Elevation

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday at Elevation Chophouse, a restaurant and sky bar tucked inside the Cobb County Airport in Kennesaw (my hometown 🙂 ).  It was on my Summer Bucket List and I’ve heard lots of rave reviews about the place, so when I found a Groupon for them, I had to take advantage. Elevation is best known for its unique dining setting (the airport), but in my opinion, it’s the liquid nitro cocktails that make them standout. That’s right, liquid nitro! They have a decadent list of signature cocktails that all can be turned into a liquid nitro drink by adding dry ice. All liquid nitro cocktails are prepared table side and it so neat to see how they turn out. My favorite martini was the Blood Orange Cosmo, but I also tried a liquid nitro Mango Margarita that looked like cotton candy in a glass. If you touch them immediately, you will get burned. Trust me, my finger still hurts. We finished up the night with steak and seafood while watching the sun set over the runway. Elevation was the perfect setting for a romantic birthday dinner. The atmosphere is so different at night and it was really cool to see all the bi-planes arriving and departing while we ate.  I’ll definitely be returning, but most likely for happy hour!
