Weekend on the Westside

It was another hazy, grey weekend in Atlanta which prevented us from going to the pool, yet again. But, with a friend from Tallahassee visiting for the weekend, we couldn’t just sit inside. We headed over to the Westside Provisions District for some serious shopping (Jonathan Adler was having a 50% off sale) and good eats. Home to shops such as Sid and Ann Mashburn, Calypso St. Barth, Free People, Room & Board, and Knoll, Westside Provisions is made up of an eclectic mix of  luxury fashion and fine home furnishings alongside a variety of dining options. The buildings were once an industrial, meatpacking district, but have since been renovated to an urban marketplace. On Friday night we ate at one of my favorite spots in the district, Taqueria del Sol. The line was out the door, but it was well worth the wait! Saturday was spent browsing aimlessly through the shops, although I did find these salt and pepper shakers, that I’ve wanted since last Christmas. It turned out to be Christmas in July! The rain finally started to move in, so that was our cue to leave, but we definitely plan on returning-most likely for brunch here.
